I wrote this poem in June of 2024.

you’ve change from spring to autumn within moments
never knew if I should wear my feelings on my sleeve
never knew if I should wear layers of cynicism
I’ve made it as simple as possible for you
and nothing happens
and slowly my hope of love recedes in the background

  1. This poem sums up so much for me and actually helps me in my personal life. I’ve been obsessed about two girls and they never respond to my emails or texts and so to quote you Patty – “and slowly my hope of love recedes in the background.” It makes me sad, but as one of my favorite hip-hop bands The Pharcyde sings, “otha fish in the sea.”

    1. Omg…I understand this completely. I wrote this about this unrequited crush I had for 2 years and he chose someone else. It was brutal. 😢 but I think at the end maybe the universe meant for us to be just friendship.

      1. I agree. I mean what other choice do we have, but to do what you realized?…to accept a friendship. One of the two I’ve not heard from just stopped emailing me suddenly. I have no idea why and god, it hurts so thanks for sharing your similar experience.
